My husband and I were laughing the other day about this.
“Were we so poor in Africa that we couldn’t afford to buy more than one Coke a week for the kids?”
Bless them. On family night, because popcorn was cheap, we had lots of it. A one-liter Coke wasn’t even available, but large Cokes were. We felt one Coke, divided nine ways was quite sufficient for happiness. Add to that evenly sharing one bag of M&M’s (supplemented of course by local candy) and all were happy with this special, once-a-week treat.
Did the children suffer lack of any good thing? I think not. Half a cup of Coke (living in a village) was enough.
So interesting! I was wondering about the title. It’s a great one!
